2025 ICOM COMMS GENERAL ASSEMBLY, ELECTION OF BOARD MEMBERS, AND NEW BY-LAWS WITH NEW NAME

2025 General Assembly, 15 November 

All members and potential members of ICOM COMMS are invited to the ICOM COMMS  2025 General Assembly to be held at our joint International Committee Offsite Day with AVICOM during the 27th ICOM General Conference in Dubai, UAE, as follows:

Date: Saturday, 15 November 2025

Time: 9:30 am to 11:00 am GST (11:30 am to 1:00 pm CET).
Time is subject to change.

Location: Auditorium at Terra Expo City, Dubai. Transportation will be provided.

Virtual: Zoom Link will be provided for live streaming.
The meeting will be recorded for posting on YouTube.

Agenda: Chair and Finance Reports, followed by announcements of results of Election of Board Members and Officers, and new By-laws with a new name, followed by Q&A, panel discussion, and opening program for exciting IC Day of discovery with AVICOM and Terra Expo City colleagues. Details to follow.

Voting for Election of Board Members and Officers and Updated By-laws with New Name, 3-12 November

All members of ICOM COMMS will receive notification via a letter from the Chair, the website, and social media with instructions to vote online before the General Assembly. Voting will take place online 3 – 12 November.

Updated By-laws with New Name

In 2024, members voted to change our name from ICOM MPR, International Committee for Marketing and Public Relations, to ICOM COMMS, International Committee for Marketing, Communications and Audience Engagement. To learn more about the process of voting for the new name, click here.

Now, ICOM COMMS must update its By-laws with the new name. The board of ICOM COMMS also proposes updating the By-laws to follow the template recommended by the ICOM Secretariat with additional edits.

On October 1, all ICOM COMMS members will receive the proposed By-laws with our new name. The document will also be posted on our website.
